Gilmore Girls

That's right. The Gilmore Girls is coming back! Amy and Dan will be in control of things this time, and thank God for that! The format will be 4 90-minute episodes, with each episode happening during each season of the year (like it was portrayed in the show). So far the confirmed cast is Lorelei, Rory, Luke, Emily, Lane, and Kirk. Gypsy and Paris will also return. As well as Doyle. God knows what shenanigans Paris and Doyle have been up to this whole time. World domination put on hold? I also heard that Luke's daughter April will be in the revival so there must be some storyline there. Not sure what. And Brian and Zack (from the band Hep Alien) and Michel are already filming. Christopher (uh oh spells trouble) is coming back as well as ALL of Rory's exes (Jess, Dean, and Logan). Of course this makes it harder for me to predict what is going to happen, but it's still fun to theorize and speculate.

The real question is if Sookie aka Melissa McCarthy will come back. I can imagine she has a lot on her plate right now with her career blowing up but I hope she looks back on Gilmore Girls fondly and wants to be a part of this revival. True, her storyline is basically done. She and Jackson are married with children, her life is settled so there isn't much more growth that I see happening for her character. Then again, she is Lorelei's best friend. There are probably some things that Lorelei can talk to Sookie about much easier than Rory. Update: Melissa says that she wasn't invited back to play Sookie but I can imagine that Amy assumed she would be too busy. However, Amy did say that if Melissa was free at any time, she would write in a scene for Sookie. It's very sad that Edward Herrmann (Richard Gilmore) passed away before he could be a part of this great revival. They will mention his death and how Emily is coping with being a widow. And of course, the greatest mystery of all! What are those 4 words that Amy says the show will end on? Based on the clues, I believe it will be an exchange between Lorelei and Rory. Or perhaps Lorelei and Luke? Maybe it's literally "We are Gilmore Girls." Those are 4 words. Ugh I hope not.

I cannot wait until I'm back in Stars Hollow. And I know that if Amy and Dan are writing it, it will be perfect. Who knows what changes will happen? Will Lorelei still be at the Dragonfly? Will Michel? Will Rory be a bona fide journalist? Are Lorelei and Luke back together yet? Is a baby on the way? Possibly twins? Who will Rory end up with? Will Jess, Dean, and Logal each plead their case in a bid to win her back? Or will Rory end up with a new fellow? Maybe it's Marty lol. Is Lorelei's relationship with her mother stronger now that Richard has left them? Is Lane handling raising her babies and is her mom helping? What's Kirk up to and what new wacky job is he peddling? I also can confirm that Miss Patty and Babette are also there, Jackson and Taylor are both coming back to fight some more (I hope lol). And God let's hope that Christopher doesn't mess things up again! Enough of that drama! Since filming has started, I think I'll have a Gilmore Girls marathon to refresh my memory. Somem details are fuzzy so I want my mind clear and ready. Though that may be far in the future. Filming 4 90-minute episodes or minimovies will take a while. As long as it's definitely happening, I can wait. Maybe next year? Next summer?
